New Obstacles Ahead for Restoration of Voting Rights in Florida

Florida lawmakers, after the public spoke passing Amendment 4 which now allows for convicted felons to register to vote AFTER the COMPLETION of the sentences, now offer a new hurdle to convicted felons trying to determine exactly WHAT the “End of Sentence” truly means. Some lawmakers believe that not only the TIME must be completed, but also all monetary obligations, as well.

These lawmakers want all associated fees, fines, and court costs to be paid by the individual before allowing them to re-register to vote in the state of Florida.
